Saturday in the Park

With the weather forecast looking far from perfect for the Oxwich Marsh site, Heather Coats, Dan Rouse, Phil Mead and I decided to chance a visit to Margam Park (the first since April). The predicted wind didn't hamper our start and we were able to erect ninety-six metres of net around the sheltered site.
Although we weren't inundated with birds the session offered Heather the opportunity to explain wing moult to Dan who was also able to ring her first swallow pulli. In addition, Phil was able to ring his first Green Woodpecker - a juvenile - and the third of this species for the site in 2015.
